has been a model and is considered as an icon of eternal beauty
and glamour. Monica was born in Umbria. In her initial years she
pursued studies at the University of Perugia and aspired to be a
lawyer. To support her studies she started modeling. The glamorous
world proved too tempting for her and finally she had to discontinue

Film Career

Monica Bellucci began her film career. She made her first appearance
in the year 1992 where she played the role of Dracula's bride. She
soon gained popularity with the English speaking audience with her
lead role in the Italian film Malna. The role of a rape victim played
by her in the controversial film Irrversible is also well known.
The most acclaimed performance by Monica Belluccci has no doubt
been that of Persephone in The Matrix Revolutions and The Matrix
Reloaded.
Monica Bellucci starred in The Passion of the Christ. Her performance
in the film was so realistic that many fans assumed that she was
a Roman Catholic. She portrays the role of a beautiful evil queen
in The Brothers Grimm. Her latest film is Manuale d'amore 2. In
the first half of the movie she plays the role of a physiotherapist.
This physiotherapist was supposed to be the one desired by all her
patients.
In a project she was supposed to play the role of the Indian politician
Sonia Gandhi. The movie was supposed to be released in 2007 but
the movie has been shelved as of now. Monica Bellucci has also lent
her voice to the character Kaileena for the video game Prince of
Persia

Monica is married to the actor
Vincent Cassel. She has co-starred with him in several films. They have a daughter Deva, she was born on 12th September 2004. Monica has posed for the Italian Vanity Fair Magazine while she was pregnant. This was done as protest against the Italian law which permits only married couples to use in-vitro fertilization.
